the vet put her down this morning. my mom took her to see if it was time or not and they told her what was wrong with chelsea. they said she had glacoma(sp) and that is why her eyes were swelling and red and that she had lost the feeling in her legs, like the nerves or something and her spine and all that was deteriorating(sp). it may have had something to do with her brain since she was senial(sp). it hurt her to stand and do much of anything. she would never show us she was hurting, but she would try not to move, and that would be why. the vet said that she could have come home and gone on living like that for years, but they decided to put her down. vet told mom that he would say it's best. they could have given her medicine, but he said it wouldn't help her because she's so old. but she's not hurting anymore.

we had her for about 17 years almost. she was mine and my sister's first dog. got her as a christmas present when she was a puppy and she had a red ribbon tied up in a bow around her neck. she would run around as fast as she could in our little apartment and taught herself to play fetch. but she love to play tug-of-war, especially with our jackets. we're all going to miss her. :cries: i hope she had a good life.

whew, just hit the big 10,000 pageview mark. thanks everybody. :)

and as for some random news, i almost got in a severe car wreck because of a what appeared to be a drunk driver on my way home from work tonight. :disbelief: i managed to avoid it, barely, because i saw it coming. i saw he wasn't stopping when he was coming up on his red light. my light was still green and so, i slowed down more. good thing i did. he turned rather fast and flew out in front of me, in my lane, and i swerved and missed him and i managed to still hold complete control over the car so i didn't end up careening off my road into on-coming traffic. people, seriously, don't drink and drive. :disbelief:
